If you’re wondering how much boot and frunk storage space the Australian Peugeot e-2008 2023 model has, it’s listed as 434 litres cargo capacity but I found it did not fit in as many items as that number suggests.
In fact I was quite disappointed as the Peugeot e-2008 stores less in the boot than my previous MG ZS EV 2023 boot space test and Hyundai Kona EV 2024 boot space test.
I mention these EV models because the Peugeot e-2008 2023 has a similar range as the much cheaper MG ZS EV Excite and is slightly more expensive than the new Hyundai Kona Electric 2024 Extended Range, which is more modern and has a WLTP range that’s 177km more than the Peugeot.
The unpowered boot lid of my media review loan car opened hatchback style to reveal the boot floor which handily has two adjustable levels allowing you to choose either a flat floor to easily slide items in or a deeper floor to fit more items.
There are cargo hooks in the corners and interestingly Peugeot includes a Type 2 charging cable & storage bag for it with the car instead of including a standard domestic power socket charging cable.
The Peugeot e-2008 2023 model shares it’s platform with fossil fuel cars and is front wheel drive so you get no frunk at all under the bonnet.
With the floor in the lower position I did not manage to fit in all of my test luggage. This is what could fit while still being able to close the boot lid:
- 2 x medium sized suitcases
- 1 x carry on luggage
- 2 x backpacks
My 2nd carry on luggage and 7m Type 2 to Type 2 cable in blue bag would have had to be kept on the rear passenger seats if this car was used for a long EV road trip.
On another occasion going shopping at ALDI I easily fitted in all my shopping bags as well as my backpack and Rolser trolley.
Buying items for some upcoming work in the garden I fitted in 6 x 50 litre bags of garden mulch.
